computer running real slow, and crashes daily, help?

usually on a daily basis my computer crashes. When it is not crashing and i am able to do something on it, it runs really slow. i have run McAfee, Adware, Spybot, and CCleaner. after running the CCleaner it works really fast for 10 minutes or so, and then goes back to slow. I am lost and do not know what to do. i am hoping not to have to reformat, and i thought i should come here first. hopefully someone here can help me. i have downloade HiJackThis, but have not run it yet.

Well, that couldn't be your entire problem. Run AVG, Ewido and Spybot Search and Destroy in safe mode (F8 upon boot). Post new log after.

Well, your looking clean. Are you still experiencing crashes? Or any other problems?

If so, could you give me some more information about the crashes. Such as what you were doing when the crash happened. Were you running any programs? Do you get prompts about the crash?

 

when my computer crashes i am usually on the internet reading in this forum. it says internet explorer has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. well when i click ok, it not only shuts down my explorer, but also my computer. i have since switched over to firefox, and have not had that problem. the only problem i am having now, is the fact that my computer is running slow. i try to pull up my Excel program and it loads really slow, whereas before it would almost jump out of my monitor. it has been going slow for about 2 weeeks now. who knows maybe it is time to get a new computer who knows. if you can think of anything, please let me know. if you cant help me dont worry about it. everything still works, just slowly.
