hey all, I have a computer that I built around 4 years ago, I have been upgrading it over time however. We just got dealt a huge winter storm that kept messing with the power. Anyway today I got up and tried to turn on the computer, as I noticed that it was off, and the computer starts, makes a weird sound then just shut off. So i checked everything I could find, and then it turned on for just a bit longer then shut off again. It does not load Windows or anything. I do not think it is the power supply, nor the motherboard because whne my mobo fried once before, the computer would actually turn on, but it would not show anything on screen. Can anybody help??? thanks matt
You can quickly eliminate the possible PSU...use it to start your other machine. You'd be surprised what power spikes can do to a system. Do yourself a favor, don't risk anything....unplug your systems before the storms hit.
can anyone else help??? I do not have another machine to test this PSU on.... any other suggestions??
