What's up guys I'm a rookie to this but I was wondering if someone could tell me what cables or programs do I need in order to watch movies that are installed on my laptop to watch on my TV? I've tried using a s-video cable and I've tried using regular a/v cables and the only thing I get is a black screen. I have movies and pictures that I would like to share with friends and family members if someone could give me an idea I really would appreciate it. Thanks

    Are you using windows?

If you go to your manufacturers site or video card they would have instructions on how to set it up.

I just meant to for to you visit the video card manufacturers site.

    Windows Instructions
After you have all the cables plugged in turn on your computer. If you plug everything in for some reason with the computer on and windows loaded just retart it works too.
    Right-click somewhere on your desktop
    Click on properties
    Select the settings tab
There you should see two options (square with a number in it. 1 and 2)
    You need to select 2
Then check the box that says extend my windows desktop onto this monitor.
    Press Ok.
After a brief pause your screen is likely to flash and you should see the video on your screen and television.
Please tell me how it goes. If its in black and white it usually can be fixed (common problem).
