Got a new Memorex MRX-525G. I already have 2 drives, one Pioneer DVD burner, one regular dvd-rom. I took out the dvd-rom and replaced it with the new Memorex. Used the same jumper settings. Once the Memorex was installed, I hit the comp's power button. The comp beeped a few times and didn't even start up. I turned it off and turned it on again. This time, the power must have surged, because the fan roared. I immediately turned it off, and reinstalled the old dvd-rom. The comp did the same thing. I unhooked the drives so now I only have the Pioneer DVD burner. The comp seems to work fine now. I have the hard drive on one IED cable, and the 2 drives on another. I made sure to set one to slave and the other to master. WTF?!
