I have been having a hard time attempting to setup my printer port to work with jtag cable in wine. Can anyone give me an idea what I need to do to make it work with the cable?

The port opperates my printer fine when I hook it up but will not recoginize anything on it when I hook up the jtag cable and run tests on it.

I made a string value to look like this HKCU/Software/Wine/VDM/ppdev and named the string 378 with a value of /dev/parport0 and it didn't work. I also try parport1 and 2 but no good. Am I missing something or has cups stoped this from working like it used to?

The printer port on mandriva may be lp0, 1, or 2. I am not sure. Creaky likely know's.

If I remember right I had to edit some files inside the fake windows folder. I'm thinking user.reg, system.reg, and win.ini.

    I however don't use mandriva.

You should search the faq's and forum's at winehq and codeweavers.

now this is why i won't mess with Wine. i like getting stuck into things as much as the next person, but not when the time taken to do simple things takes up way too much time that could be used for other things..

Anyways, the only time i mess with printers is the rare time i have to reconfigure local office laser printers when i install a new Mandriva.. and cups usually 'just works'. (The only part to sort out then is when cups starts port scanning and the Windows guys start moaning but i digress)
