I saw a post here earlier that people who own a modded 360 who update their firmware are not banned from xbox live and that 360 users dont get banned only xbox users is that true?
Clarity... 1) If you own an original Xbox, mod it, connect to Xbox Live, you will be banned! 2) If you own an original Xbox, mod it, but "Dual Boot" back to the retail dash, connect to Xbox Live, you will not be banned! 3) If you own a 360, flash the DVD firmware with the "*Latest" firmware you will not be banned. * A word of caution. Microsoft constantly change their LIVE software to adapt to the "Latest" firmware. You will only need to be banned once for it to be permanent (eg. no matter what firmware you flash, you're still banned)
