Hey Ryan, (cool name by the way) So you have an mpeg file. That's good. No, you don't have to convert it to avi first to get it onto a dvd. You have to author it. Meaning, you have to take that mpeg and use authoring software so a video_ts and audio_ts folder are created. There are tons of bits of authoring software from the easy (nero) to the more complicated but with more options (tmpgenc, dvdlab pro). I suggest taking a gander at the authoring guides on this site and get familiar with what you need to do. But regardless, since you have the mpeg, the long part of the process is done Ry
Alrighty, so it is an avi file First things first, you must encode it into an mpeg file first. If you have nero, the nero vision express will do it. Or you can use something like avi2dvd or TMPGEnc or CCE (if you're into that sick sick 'quality is everything' rant ;D ah ha ha ha ha) So once you have that mpeg, you can then author the dvd, not before. Further, (didn't see this the first time) yes, you can download videos already in dvd format. If you're a part of a torrent site, just look for the DVDR uploads and download them. The avi's require converting to get to dvd format. Ry
I have all the nero programs, i tryed nero vision to recode it but then when i open the dvdv author i cant open the file says illegal so it must have no have converted to mpeg
Nero vision express will also do the authoring for you. It should have taken you through a section where you create menus and such as well. Did you go through that step. Cause if you did, then your file should be ready to burn.
got it to burn took 6 hours to burn the avi files using nero!! there has to be a faster way if anyone knows... Any websites to download the movies in dvd format? Okay another question i, i burned this movie to a dvdr that took 6 hours wondering if i could use that dvdr tht has the movie on and copy it to another dvdr.... yes my comuter has a dvd rom and a dvd rw but when i use nero to do so, starts then error comes up and ejects the dvd anyone help me out
Something to keep in mind is that the faster you go, the crappier the encoding. (As a general rule....CCE not included)
