I've connected my pc to my hdtv (Panasonic TH-37PX8E, plasma) , extending my desktop to my tv so I can drag items from one screen to another isn't the problem, I can't seem to find the right resolution, my tv has a resolution of 1024 x 720 and the resolution that works best when I use my pc on my tv is 1176 x 664, but with this resolution I have black bars around the desktop because its a little bit smaller then my tv

Also , somtimes I play a blue-ray movie on my pc with my tv as monitor, but then its only 720p, while my tv can go up to 1080i (Hd-ready), how can you optimize the settings so that the resolution is right, and that I can display movies in 1080i (I know some say 720p is better then 1080i, and some say it isnt, so I would like to try out for myself)

    (sorry for my poor english)

Some bad news for you...your screen is not an HDTV, or at least not a 720P HDTV. When they say, "HD-Ready" what they actually mean is that it can receive HD signals, and automatically drop the quality to fit the crummy screen. The TV supports 720P, 1080i, and 1080P inputs, but it cannot display them at full quality. Because of this, I would think your best resolution for this screen would be 1024x720...as this is the maximum resolution, and it is also the highest resolution that I can think of that will work without cutting off parts of the picture or displaying black bars around the picture.

The only problem with this is that my pc has the options 1024x768 or 1088x612 , so 1024x720 is not one of them

I have a nvidea graphics card, When I go to advanced mode there is an option to make a custom resolution , but I need your help with this, the resolution you already mentioned but what do I put in the boxes labeled with bits per pixel and GDI-renewalfrequenty (might be a wrong translation, kind of a difficult word)

Default settings are; bits per pixel: 32 and the GDI thing: 59

(Thanks for your help so far)
