I found a tutorial on how to connect my xbox to my network. I type ping IP and it recgnizes my xbox but when i go to flashxp it says connection timed out? Can anyone just connect their xbox to a network without evox, or do i need another dashboard to connect. i am using xbox as username and xbox as passsword.
The best way to connect your xbox: If it is modded of course. Create a Network for one. If you're using XP, there is a nifty little tool that will allow you to accomplish this the Control Panel (Network Setup Wizard). Follow the guide and once it's done share the directory you wish for XBMC to access via the SMB on your xbox. This will allow your xbox to connect to the internet as long as your router and modem are. If you're connecting directly you have to make sure that your Internet Connection has been shared. A restart of both systems will make it complete. You'd be able to watch a movie (.avi file, etc.) on the TV connected to your xbox or listen to music thru a stereo/radio if it is connected to your xbox's sound output.
