I want to connect my dvd player (regular non-computer type) to my computer so that I can display a small dvd file on the internet. A friend suggested using an rgb to usb cable to do this, but I can't seem to find one anywhere. I have a networking usb port so that can probably work. Any ideas? Once I solve this problem, what software do I use to read and store the dvd file on my computer. Thanks
You're going to need a videro/audio capture device such as an All-In-Wonder video card or external hardware device.
can you explain more what type of cable i need to connect my dvd player to my computer?? may be put a pic?? i want to transfert files on my dvd on my hard drive
Hi gns100 and mikos To be able to "capture" video from your standalone DVD player you will need a Video capture card and capture software. Hardware for capturing can be either a Video/capture card such as the ATI All-in-Wonder cards or a internal TV card such as Asus TV card or an external TV card like MSI's Vox. There are other external capture devices but some people have had problems with these devices. Most of the hardware has bundled software to do the job. It may be easier to buy and install a DVD rom I hope this helps
