Hi, Please could someone advise on how i connect a SKY+HD box to a recently purchased SONY DAV DZ280 surround system, so i can get the full benefit of surrondnd sound. At the moment i can only get terrestrial tv sound through the system.
There is one HDMI connection, one scart connection and a digital media port.Could the Digital Port be of any use. There is not an optical connection on the system.
reading the instructions it says to connect hdmi lead and scart to tv,hopefully your tv has 2 hdmi ports. http://www.sony.ie/product/hcs-surround-kit---dvd-player/dav-dz280#pageType=manual
Thanks, But that is the way i have already connected the system. When i switch from terrestial tv to SKY i still get the sound from the previous terrestrial channel i was watching. Do you think it would help to re-route the scart lead from the surround system to the SKY+HD box instead of the tv.
ok you have a hdmi from sky box to tv to say hdmi 1 to view you go to that setting. the other hdmi cable from sound system to tv say hdmi 2,scart lead you can try to sky box but unsure if it will work if settings are hdmi or scart,if not i think there are phono red/white sockets on sky box use a cable and a scart adaptor that takes phono leads and switch to input as i remember.
