    I have a 80GB Apple IPOD firmeware 1.2

Problem is that after the first time I connected it to the PC it went into a boot up loop upon disconnecting it. It starts to boot with the apple symbol, then the light come on and then it starts to boot again from zero and so on...

any idea on how to fix this problem ?

    Bad bootloader?

Reinstall the firmware. Boot the ipod, hold down the center button and left button, see if it forces into disk mode. Reboot the ipod with center+menu, see if the problem persists. If you can get it to connect to a computer, do a firmware restore using the apple update tool.

    WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! lalala...

    1. connect it to your comp. (should try to reset itself)
    2. as soon as it gets to "zero" as you described (just like when you hold centre + menu) press and hold centre + play
    3. should be in disc mode now.
    4. go to iTunes and restore iPod.

    DONE!
