    Hi there

I've been getting continuous i/o error while trying to burn anything!

I started out trying to backup my dvds and it was working for a few then i started getting the errors.

My burner is: Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D

I firstly update the firmware to version 1.41
And i then made sure no other program was running while burning.

This worked for 1 or 2 dvds then the error started coming up again.

I then tried to just back up some documents and files on my computer and again it worked once and then after that i kept getting the error.

    I am using Sony DVD-R 16x discs!

I've tried using nero, imgburn, dvddecrypter, everything and i get all the same error!

I then tried burning at 8x and it works for the first disc of the day, but if i try to burn a second dvd the error comes up

This is my latest nero error log file from today:

Give a good cleaning. You may have few more burn.
Though I believe your burner is dying, even you may have successful burning time to time.

    Lens cleaning disc(?)

To be honest, I’ve never tried. I do not know how effective it is…
There are quite many threads here about cleaning console box lens.

Normally associated with poor media inasmuch as the burner cannot calibrate the required laser power to burn the disk.

In this case, cut back the burning speed to 4x then buy some Verbatim disks - that way you eliminate the media from the problem - and you still have a package of good disks.
