I have many problems converting DVD files (.vob, .ifo) in .avi files to import them in my video editor. I tried to use DVD to AVI software, but the results were so bad that i preferred everytime to put analogically the audio -video signal from the DVD player into the RCA ports of the camera and then record on tape. Any suggestions to make a good digital conversion of the DVD files? Thank you!
Easiest might be FairUse Wizard since it is easy to use and can encode with ffdshow which offers raw video as well as DV and several lossless codecs. It doesn't support DVD files though, only DVD's and ISO's. Otherwise you would need to use DGIndex, AVISynth, VirtualDub, etc. since most of the one click type DVD to avi apps only support DivX/XviD which aren't suitable for editing. You could also look into using an MPEG-2 editor.
