   hi, i just downloaded a movie from the internet. the file size is 700MB. i would like to partition it and burn this into two separate cdr which can be played in normal vcd player. is this possible and how should i go about it? thanks

   1. Break the AVI file into two first. Use virtualdub for this (or AVIChop, or AVISPlit blah blah blah)
   
   2. Encode each chunk to MPEG1. For more info on encoding to (S)VCD with TMPGEnc: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43085

   I like to use Panasonic MPEG1 Converter to convert files to VCD.

   Yes I like the Panasonic one too! Its just that the TMPGEnc is more widely available, there is a free version and probably a larger support/information base.
