it might help your cause if when you ask a question that you remember to give as much infomation as possible. I cant really comment unless we know what your pc stats are, how much ram you have ,what the chipset is etc etc etc............. I can recommend an application for you to try but you would probably be disappointed as its not the quick fix you thought you'd get.Time wise it will encode an avi to mpeg2 in about an hour depending on your pc stats but as you didnt mention them well its any ones guess. As to the comment that nero sucks, well thats your opinion and mine is 'if you dont know how to use a program more often than not people say it sucks............. I'm waiting in anticip[ation of your pc stats.................
yes u are right i did not explain myself appropiately.....i use dual hard drives 512 mb raam got a 256 mb graphics card with gui on it what i am trying to accomplish is....since i use dvshrink to burn to my disks because i never get burning isues with it i need a program to convert avi or mpeg into vob so i can use dvd shrink to burn reason why i say nero is useless is becuase when i try using it to burn to disk 90 % of time it fails due to some stupid reason or something btw my ide channels r set to ultra dma 5 etc etc no pio mode i use to drives cuase the read n write factor does not apply to much when u use 2 drives to perform
well theres 3 things you need to do. 1.try a different burning application if nero is failing.Shrink isnt a burning application its a reauthor.Google for imgburn 2.When nero fails it asks you do you want to keep the error log, you should say yes and then copy and paste the whole thing with out your serial number that appears at the top of the screen into a post so that we can decipher it for you and see what the real issues are. 3.It doesnt matter if you have one or 2 drives , i do.You will find that it will still require a temp folder on your hard drive to dump the stuff in before it burns it back to your destination drive (burning on the fly aint really great for burning dvds) As for the avi problem, well try this encoder and see what you think. This version is free but the better versions have a trial. http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm
There's no software that will quickly convert avi, mpeg, etc. and burn it to DVD. If you find one, let us know. I finally broke down and purchased DivXtoDVD. Now I have their newer version, which is called ConvertXtoDVD. http://www.vso-software.fr/products..._converter_for_burning_video_files_to_DVD.php
thats not a true statement. How long have you been converting files from avi to mpeg2.It used t0 take 24 hours at a time but with newer technological advances that has been whittled down to an hour. convert x to dvd is just the renamed version of divx to dvd.Same program, different name improved version nothing more.
ty for your time....i figured out my problem i wasn't recording off vcr high quality therefore converting and what not took longer i got it to perform within an hour which isn't to bad.....i use 2 hdd to convert and burn etc etc yes temp files are made but when u have one drive doin all the work it slower then making both drives working.ie}dvd shrink working off of c drive storing temp on drive d: b4 it actually burns to dvd does improve performance but ty for your time all ps my nero does work now after doin what i was told to fix it but too scared to use anymore got to many frickin coasters lol
you might want to invest in som dvd rw at least if they fail, you can simply erase them and then start again
