Convert .rm to .mp4 but then wont open the .mp4, explorer crashes

I have some .rm video files that i am capable of converting to .mp4, i have used both xilsoft psp video converter and Media Coder. However once the .rm file is converted to .mp4 if i find it in explorer or attempt to it, when i reach the destination folder explorer closes and the computer is fine, this happens when i try to open the files with any media player as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem is. Thanks.

 

if you are usin PSP converter wouldnt that be for the psp?
