Convert Vhs tape to a dvd+-r?

    Okay i have a question. HOw would i make a backup of a movie that i have on VHS to a dvd + or - r? Also, what kinds of programs do i need for this? Looking for a free way to doing this but would really pay for it if i have to.. thx

    Well the Most Important thing you would need is a Good Capture Device and what software you would use would Totally depend on your Capture device...Also haveing a Very Fast PC with 2 Big hard Drives is a Good Idea because it is Best to capture to a hard Drive that is seperate from the Drive your OS and Apps are Installed on....

    Hmm,
    I've been meaning to try this myself.
    I have an ati TV capture card (cant remember the exact name of it, It's not installed ATM)

    It does have your standard red, yellow, white A/V inputs on it so I assume we might be able to capture video from a VCR with it. It was only like 50 bucks.

    As for software to capture.....
    I'm honestly clueless!

    Maybe do some google work on it and you might find your answer. Good luck!
