i used the how to guide to convert movies and burn them to dvd,the problem is that the movie lags and shows diff. colored squares in the movie during playback?what hapeened?.......i used all the programs mentioned in the guide plus i used nreo 7.another strange thing to me any way was when used avicodec to check video info, where it says file at the bottom this what it says: File : 700 MB (700 MB), duration: 1:29:40, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 52 % now after converting the file with TMPGEnc part. it gives me this file info: File : 3.53 GB (0.00 B), duration: 1:29:35, type: MPG, 0 audio stream(s), quality: 73 % should the quality improve like that?i thought quality go down from converting, not up. by the way i'm new to this kind of stuff! can you guys help me out?
it's the media you are using! use quality media and burn at half the rated speed of the disk. Also consider what your burner can burn! If it is a newer burner it should burn every kind of disk out there. Otherwise look up your burner here and read what it can and can't do: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php here is a media guide: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm use only the good stuff, Made In Japan (MIJ). Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell, Fuji.... just make sure it has the MIJ on the label of the box or spindle! Verbatim is the only exception to the MIJ rule, they are made in Taiwan/Singapore and the only other disk that gets near my burner... I'm strictly a Taiyo Yuden fan! using quality media will stop pixelations, skipping, freezing and other maladies that come from using crappy media!
I used philips dvd+r 16x to burn the movie on,good or bad media to do so?.........thnx for the tips!!!
philips is land fill media..... another words..... crappy! what is your make and model of your burner?
