So i'm trying to convert some video clip files to Divx so i can watch them on my 360 but the output file is almost double the size of the original. The video size is 140mb and gets converted to 330mb. This is an issue for me because i have a lot of files i wanna put on a dvd-5 but it's gonna be impossible like this. Can someone please explain to me what's happening? and what other program out there can i use to convert to divx that will keep the same size and play on Xbox. I'm using Xilisoft video converter 3 btw.

You forgot to mention the running time of the file and it's
format (possibly relevant). Additionally, the input and output
    (if different) resolutions.

You have to set the bitrate. Somewhere, in every converter program,
there should be a place to do it.

What is the original format type? Many programs scale the size up instead of shrinking them. I mean, after you convert a 700mb Divx file to Video_TS file to burn to DVD-5 it ends up about 4.3GB if I remember correct.
    Some conversions shrink, some enlarge.
