Whats a good converter, i tryed #1 Video Converter let it convert over night for 7 hours and only got to 39% i have tried about four different ones let them conert for 2 hours and only got about 0-10% done... the file is only 686 MB is this normal to take this long. I am using DivX to DVD converter now and its estimating 3 hours normal?
It all depending on How Fast your System is and what encoder you are useing.... One the the Best Quality and Fastest encoders is the "MainConcept Encoder" which On My System (3.2gb with 1gb Ram) I can encode a 2 hour movie to Mpeg-2 for DVD in about One Hour and 20 minutes with Much better quality than DivXToDVD or #1 Video Converter..... Also the Size of the AVI file has No effect on how long it will take to encode what Matters is the Length of the File and the Resolution of the Image as Lower resolutions are Quicker to encode.....
