    reevo74,
There are some softwares that you can use to convert your avi file to dvd file ie vob eg. and then burn it to your blank dvd media.
The softwares are santadvd, nero6, winavi, etc......
If you want to convert avi files and straight away burn it to your dvd, santadvd work well with me.
Use santadvd full version to avoid watermark on your video.
Using santadvd is pretty easy. Just open santadvd and click on the icon first on the left hand side (Video file -> avi, wmv to dvd)and when santadvd opened, click on add media and the rest of the re- author is all up to you to choose and you are on your way to a good burn. Make sure you use good media such as verbratim, maxell, taiyo yuden that made in japan to prevent any roller coaster or failure.
