    Hi,

Have a look at VSO ConvertXtoDVD:

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

It's not free, but will convert all your video files to DVD, and comes with a built in burn engine, so 1 software does it all.

v3.00 is in full development, due in the fall of 2007, and it should have tons and tons of new features, and will be a free upgrade if you purchase v2.2.3.258 which is the latest version.

If you are going to play them on a PS2, Xbox, purchase only 1st class media (Taiyo Yuden, Verbatims) and do not burn too fast, I read that PS2 (Xbox too maybe) a real real picky players.

I use WinAVI to convert my AVI files to DVD-R media for home viewing. The program is great for episodic video as it allows you to convert an entrire TV show from AVI to Video-ts files which can the be burned with Dvddecrypter or Imgburn as it is now called.

If you want a free program use AVI2DVD as it does most everything you need.

I agree with mossfan. I have used Avi2dvd and it works great plus it's free. I believe you can get it at www.videohelp.com and you will have to search for it on that website. The only drawback is it takes a long time to convert. I converted what turned out to be 2.5gb worth of vob files from avi files and it took nearly 3 hours to do but worked fine otherwise. Once you convert from avi to vob's (dvd files), you can use any burning software like Imgburn (very good one and it's free).

    Good Luck!

    Also..

You can use VSO DivxtoDVD as well as it is freeware an works well.

Here's the best method and all you need.

Use divxtodvd to convert the AVI to Video_ts files and then use Imgburn to burn to media to watch in your home dvd player.
    Here's the divxtodvd page: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm
