I was given a few DVD's from our local Broadcast channel. They are episodes which they filmed for us, and belong to us, to be able to use as we see fit. I am new to manipulating videos, and need some advice on what I have to do to get my VOB files to play on my website? Do I need to convert them to AVI, and if so, what is the best method or software to do the job. Here is an image of the files I have to work with: Thanks in advance for the help.
The procedure explained in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ (DVD to AVI - a guide for anamorphic movies) is a little to complicated, and has a wrong point: when you resize the movie and it is not exactly 16:9, you'd better resize 720x480(576) --> 640 x [720/640]*480 to keep aspect ratio even when you have a 2.11x1 display movie or another one. More, I use VirtualDubMod instead of VirtualDub so I can load any type of audio (MP3 or AC3) which I encode using HeadAC3he or FMPEG GUI aftex having extracted a WAV sound (which has delay = 0 by construction) or an AC3 with ReJig in IFO Mode (which has the option 'correct AC3 delay').. Alas, I didn't learn easier ways...
