yes you can do that and it will work but if the file is only 700MB for example you must use FSTFIX to convert it into a 1.35GB file then simply change the .GCM into .ISO.
then burn them to recomended blank 1.5GB MINIDVD-R.
And it work Hope that helps.

so the final ISO size has to be 1,4 - 1,5 GB ? Hm.. that means that its useless to burn a renamed *.GCM into *.ISO when the size is below 1,4 GB.. did I get that right ?

no, what he means is that you need to run FSTFIX before you try to rename it to ISO and burn to dvd

Yes because if you try it the game just gose to a black screen, ive never had any problem with burning full sized GCM's without fixing, them but if you do get bother use it.

The reason you use fstfix is to put all the garbage files back into the iso since all GC games normally have a file size of exactly 1,459,978,240 bytes whereas wiped images don't.

The game will play even if it's wiped, but it supposedly lessens the lifespan of the laser.

Wiped images are fine for streaming, but shouldn't be used while playing from disc.
