Converting mp3s to another bitrate

    This is just a general question. If I want to convert let's say a 128kbps mp3 to 320kbps, does it lose any quality? I heard the larger the bitrate the better the quality.

    The fact that you are [bold]Reencoding[/bold] the file is why you are losing quality. You always want to try avoiding the reencoding process. You can never improve the quality by reencoding to a higher bitrate. When you compress a file, you are taking information out of the original file to get a smaller file. You can never regain that info. Hope this explains it a little bit for ya.
