Converting Ntsc mpeg to pal mpeg

    trying to covert some pop videos (NTSC Source) onto a PAL SVCD,but i keep getting big black chunks at either side of the screen.Is There a way to UN-Compress this,then re-convert to PAL? i'm having a bit of a nightmare trying...I've used TMPG,Xmpeg & a few others to no avail.
    Doesn't seem to be a lot of info on this subject!!!

    If you want to convert to DV AVI first, then you can use the aDVanced DV PAL/NTSC Converter:

    I've tried it. Does a nice job.
