I recently bought my son a mini MAC because he wants to learn how to edit his skateboard films. The mini only supports NTSC but his digital camera is a PAL format. I'm looking for recommendations for east to use software that can covert PAL to NTSC so that he can use the film editing software that came with the mini MAC. Thank you.
I don't know Mac but I'd suggest a couple of places to search. 1) the manufacturer of the video camera - see if they have any Mac software for it or can recommend compatible Mac software. 2) check out the usenet newsgroups such as alt.mac and any video software that has a .mac group such as adobe.premier.mac Some people on the mac newsgroups could help you zero in your search. If all else fails computers are cheap these days. If the camera came with Windows software get a PC with XP preinstalled.
Well I don"t have a Solution for your Problem but I would have suggested that you got your Son a PC if you were doing Video editing... A few Years back it was better to do video editing on a Mac But these Day PC"s are much better for Video editing because the ammount of Editing Software available for the PC is much more than is available for the Mac..... Most Good editing software Can convert from Pal to NTSC, But Adobe Premier and Final Cut are the 2 only Mac editing Progras I know of But they both should be able to do this.... Cheers
