I am using Microsoft Plus! Audio Converter, and for some stupid reason when I riped my cds to hard drive i put on protection and set the bit rate very high. Now what I want to do is convert it to mp3 and set the bit rate much lower(so i can save hard drive space). Is there any other programs or a way for Plus audio con. to do this without failing?
OK, you can't convert protected files to mp3, as that would be taking off the protection(mp3s can't be protected). The purpose of the copy protection is to stop piracy. Someone could easily put that song on Kazaa, Limewire, etc. after it has been converted(No offense to you). You could burn it to a CD if you have the original computer you ripped it on, and re-rip it as a lower bitrate file.
