Which software do you find easiest? I'm still new to the knowledge of all these different types of files. (i.e. ac3, mkv, i'm even still getting use to divx and xvid) I've finally got all my codecs and I'm using Cucusoft Ultimate Suite to covert to DVD (which is my ultimate goal for just about everything). But cucusoft doesn't seem to handle MKV files. Can anyone recommend a program that can handle everything Cucusoft can and MKVs or just one that can get mkvs to something Cucusoft can handle?

ConvertXtoDVD has support for mkv files and just about any other video format you can throw at it.

they are good but both change ur high def 720 or 1080 movie's resolution to 720x480 which is pretty bad quality loss.

Did you use them on "Best Quality" settings, 2-pass encoding, or fast encoding?
