converting .sub subtittle files to txt

    Hello all, I have another question about subtittles, how do I convert .sub subtitle files to a txt. whats the quickest, easiest way? and whats the easiest format(dvd,svcd, divx, avi) to add subtitles too?? I ve tried adding subs to dvd files it's too difficult and half the programs Ive used dont read .sub files! Im lost here and am in need of a lot of guidance!!!

    .sub as in half a VOBSub (idx/sub) or the text (Micro DVD?) format? If it is the text format then it is basically already txt.

    DVD requires authoring for subs, as does SVCD, DivX requires that you use xsubs sub streams, so I would say that avi is the easiest. Just give the subs the same name and you are done.
