could anybody please help me?i have downloaded movies 2 my pc from where i have tried to convert them to dvd to play on my home dvd player. when i watch them on my pc the picture is fine but when i burn them to dvd the film jumps every couple of seconds so the picture is not smooth. I am using nero express but have tried a host of other programmes including dvd santa, winavi and vso divxtodvd all with the same results. this only occurs to dvdrips or screeners of movies.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If every program gives the same results, I would lean towards burn speed and/or poor media but that would be the result with every file you burn, not just dvdrips and screeners. What is the result if you watch these burned DVD on your pc? If those are possibilities, slow your burns to 4x and try Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or any media made in Japan (Verbatim is the exception). A firmware upgrade would also be a longshot possibility if it's every file.

hello mistycat, thanks for the quick reply.
When i play the movies on my pc i get the same result,Still the jump every couple of seconds. At the minute i am using ritek traxdata media which have been recommended to me by quite e few people for the quality,I am burning the film at 4x aswell.
When i use nero express i transfer over the file and then manually add my chapters, after that it you can preview what your project will look like thats when the jumping starts, Before its even been burnt to disc. Its a problem which i cant get my head around with it only happening to rips and screeners.

I also don't understand it only happening to dvdrips and screeners. I'm afraid I never heard of that.

    Hi dottylfc.

I had trouble with Winavi as well. Until when using the prog I did nothing else with my computer just let the prog run. I burned DVD's which played fine.
