Heres the deal Need to convert my .vob files to .mpeg4 What i tried: -psp video 9- Worked for a 134 minute movie in about one and a half hours. Quality when viewed in full screen was... meh, not as good. But overall acceptable. The problem, since that one conversion, all my other files are projecting 20 hours+ to finish encoding. And they are only 45 minute episodes, much less than the 134 minute movie. This is unacceptable! Solution: Does anyone know of any software that converts .vob to mpeg4, preferably FREE, and does it faster than 20 hours?! And loses little quality? help -gabe
You are actually converting for a PSP? AVC or SP? psp video 9 is based on ffmpeg? Anything that is free is pretty much going to use x264 for encoding AVC so you are basically going to get the same speed. For SP there are more choices like libavcodec or XviD. x264 actually supports lossless encoding so you could have the exact quality of your source. It won't work on a PSP though and the filesize is going to increase significantly.
