So i have the newest version of convertxtodvd 3 or actually 2.999 and want to take an mkv file which is roughly 8 gigs. i have it set to burn to a dvd9 and the file output is only 3.8 gigs. is there a way i can convert it and still have roughly the same resolution of 1280 as opposed to 720?
ConvertxtoDVD and most of the converters will convert to DVD 720x480 maximum, so the end result would be compatible with the standard DVD players. However, something is not right in the settings if you only got 3.8 gigs and you set it for DVD9. Does ConvertxtoDVD have an option for "High Quality" encoding and a high bitrate? I normally use DVD Flick and set it to automatic, so it adjusts the bitrate as high as possible to fit to the disc. ConvertxtoDVD must be capable of the same setting. You could try DVD Flick and choose your own bitrate.
