Are you "backing up" a WS dvd, or are you converting avi or
    something similar ?

I think for widescreen you need like 16:9 ratio. Settings can be chosen via the settings menu.

When you say it's burning FS, do you mean the aspect ratio
is wrong and the WS content is being stretched vertically to fill the
    whole screen?
    Is the TV 4/3 ?

If that is not what's happening, please explain in more detail.

I don't know for sure, I rarely use ConvertXtoDVD, and when I do it's for class stuff, and skate footage. But, I am about to work on Meet the Fockers, I'll choose 16:9 and report back, and see if that really is the problem.

EDIT: OK, I tested a small AVI file, choose 16:9, played, and thats how I got it widescreen.

I don't really know. Have you tried using DVD Flick? You can find a nice tutorial in the Guides section. I really don't know what else you could do..

    Interesting article.
As it points out, choosing 16/9 anamorphic is the best choice regardles
of your TV type, because the DVD player will size it to the correct
format when you set it up properly in it's settings.

Seems this has something to do with convertx not setting the flags
properly. I've never looked at convertx, but I'm going to
download it and check it out now.
