convertx is burning full screen dvds. the source is wide screen. tried changing tv ratio. what do i need to do in order to correct this problem.
does anyone look at this anymore? this use to be my go to site for all my computer questions. now it seems as though no one is out there
i'm converting a avi movie. it is ws when i view it on windows media, but when a convert it using convertx, it changes to full screen.
When you say it's burning FS, do you mean the aspect ratio is wrong and the WS content is being stretched vertically to fill the whole screen? Is the TV 4/3 ? If that is not what's happening, please explain in more detail.
I don't know for sure, I rarely use ConvertXtoDVD, and when I do it's for class stuff, and skate footage. But, I am about to work on Meet the Fockers, I'll choose 16:9 and report back, and see if that really is the problem. EDIT: OK, I tested a small AVI file, choose 16:9, played, and thats how I got it widescreen.
i chose 16:9 and its still showing fs. the tv is 4:3, i guess. it's an older tv. but usually when i put a ws dvd in it shows ws. is there something else i need to do in the settings? thanx
I don't really know. Have you tried using DVD Flick? You can find a nice tutorial in the Guides section. I really don't know what else you could do..
A search on the ConvertX forum seems to have a lot of references to this problem recently. http://forums.vso-software.fr/widescreen-comming-out-4-3-t3237.html
Interesting article. As it points out, choosing 16/9 anamorphic is the best choice regardles of your TV type, because the DVD player will size it to the correct format when you set it up properly in it's settings. Seems this has something to do with convertx not setting the flags properly. I've never looked at convertx, but I'm going to download it and check it out now.
