Is anyone else having problems with the burning part of this program, I've burnt a couple of discs and they aren't recognised by my dvdrom so I've had to revert to burning them in Nero which is not a problem but I just wondered if anyone else had encountered problems
Are you using the latest stable version? What does your set top player say when you insert a DVD burned by C3X's burning engine?
I have noticed a few things wrong with convertxtodvd 3 (the newest version available). I use verbatims and have noticed that if i convert then let it burn, i almost always get burn errors and it never completes, thus ruining the disc. I have had to convert, then cancel the burn process, close the program, then reopen the program and it will burn perfectly. I don't get it. You also cant combine 2 files with subtitles for both, they dont play right. I know this isnt the exact problem you are having, but wanted to let you know that there are still flaws.
Convertxtodvd3 V 2.99.13.900 Works great on my comp.. When it's done i let it burn the dvd automatically and i have no complaints. I don't use it often, maybe once a week.. On a separate note though i had hell yesterday backing up a DVD that nobody else reported as being problematic. Just one of those days i guess..
Can't transcribe log file as I no longer have it, but see that others are having problems as well so I'm not alone
Hmmm interesting. i didnt know there was a new version of convertxtodvd. i have my auto updates turn'd off...whats the difference in it? is it worth updateing too?
Not real sure if worth updating. The older version I had (v2.?) worked really well for me. I updated and now I can combine 2 avi's together, you can change the menu's a bit, and a few other things i dont really use. Combining the 2 avi's is cool but you cant use subtitles at the same time. I went back to my original version then noticed i was getting bad burns every other disc also. I burn at 8x and use verbatims, and tried from 2 different spindles purchased at 2 different times and still no luck. Now I have to cancel the burn process, close the program, reopen, then burn a project already converted. I dont know if I am an isolated case but it is annoying.
I'm a long time CXD 2 user and have never used it to burn, I've turned it off in the settings. Whatever app I use for converting I always save to to the HD, I want to preview/check the output first. My final burns are always then done with ImgBurn.
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ many time convertxtodvd seems to have difficulty registering with the windows drivers, try reinstalling them after you uninstall convertxtodvd... BOOT INTO SAFE MODE (JUST DO IT!!) 1)Start>My computer> right click >properties 2)hardware tab 3)device manager 4)CD-ROM/DVD drives (names will differ) right click uninstall drive 5) restart into windows 6)upon login you will prompted to install new hardware if not go start>control panel> (make sure your in category view, left hand corner box to enable this)> "Printers and other hardware" >left hand corner "Add hardware", not "ADD PRINTER" once done you may reboot or not am not sure whats going on but when my convertxtodvd is giving me a fit (when i last updated to v2) i uninstalled it then re-install the drivers, install convertxtodvd again... and BAM it was working great again also the new one is alot better then the original...it seems to take less mem usage and is quicker! (im sure they fixed some bugs to!) [post a log] -tripplite

When going through the install and it asks you which format your dvd player uses europe, japan or both which are you supposed to choose?
I've been using convertxtodvd and reciently switched to convertx3 and have had nothing but ploblems . The disc won't burn - says the lens is dirty - but when I used clone dvd on the same disc everything went through fine ?!?
@ dnsprlfan, did you use the same brand of dvd when you burned with clonedvd? That is weird, want to post both those log files? Have you written to VSO, what do they say? I would think they would want to solve this if they can.
I use the programme and have no problems with converting the files etc but I dont use it to burn the DVD nether have used it I just tell it convert then use Nero to burn the converted files never had a problem . I always prefer to use a base burning software as Nero etc . Not a answer to your problem but thats how I do it .
