hi i am having some problems using convertxtodvd i am trying to burn a dvd that i torrented on to a dvd. An i am using tdk dvd +r so ther good and i know it is not my dvd burner. TDK Media ID: CMC MAG-E01-00 This media is rated "poor" quality.They are made by CMC Magnetics;the brand name is not a reliable indicator. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Perhaps burning at 4x instead of 8x might help. I use Convertx, but only to save the files to a folder. I use DVD Shrink to import from that folder to verify that it's a good copy, then let Shrink burn the DVD with Nero or (free) DVD Decrypter.
lol i dunno what you are talking about man first tdk is premium media. it says also on that site you gave me http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm it says tdk is in the first class Almost flawless burns with 95-100A% reliable results so i don't know what your talking about. And i don't think it is the disks because i tried a maxell disk too and i got the same error so i dunno. And i can't even burn dvd's in nero because nero is crap. Most of the time i try to burn a dvd in nero it asks to reduce the quality to fit on dvd-5 or insert dvd-9. so yah... no help yet!
TDK media, if you could buy them, are first class, you have CMC Magnetics media with a wrapper around them that says 'TDK'. I'm ignoring the petulant sarcasm.
i to are having problems, when i start the process of encoding im getting some messages up , 1=Unable to reach the internet update site(socketerror#10022 invalid argument) 2=init preview error 3=direct x preview is not available(filter not installed) Ive been using this software for some time and up till now had no problems,can any one help as im a bit green when it comes to computing. thanks NICEY
1=Unable to reach the internet update site(socketerror#10022 invalid argument) If you have 'check for updates regularly' enabled or try to check for an update and you are not connected to the internet or have an outgoing firewall blocking, then that message appears. 2=init preview error 3=direct x preview is not available(filter not installed) 2 may be related to 3.Three it's saying that a divx codec is missing. Does Convertx work ok with other files or perhaps a file that worked ok before? You may consider downloading 'G Spot', dragging the file in question into G Spot and checking that the required codec is installed on your PC. If in fact Convertx is failing on files that were ok before, consider uninstalling and reinstalling in the default location.

Uninstall Convertx by clicking Start/Control Panel/Add & Remove programs. Or Start/All Programs/VSO/Convertx2dvd/Uninstall Convertx2dvd. The default location is where the program suggests it be installed when you start the installation process. This is where convertx loaded in my PC. "C:\Program Files\vso\ConvertXtoDVD\ConvertXtoDvd.exe" Yours is probably in the same location, by default.
thanks again attar ,ive done althe uninstall etc etc,I then draged file into cxtdvd started encoding and seem to work fine had message up saying conversion completed,but it did not burn to disc message just read(burning layer is ready to write)but nothing happened, do you know what could be causing this problem? thanks NICEY
That's not a problem;it's a feature. Boot convertx , click settings/burning and check-off what you want to do after encoding. The file you encoded was saved to the working folder (settings/general). Waiting to be authored or burned with the likes of Nero, etc.
me again ,attar ive ticked all the boxes that i want to be done after encoding i.e burn to disc but it still doesnt do it,all im left with is two folders in the working folder, 1=audio ts,2=video ts, audio is empty,video is 3.25gb but i only started with a file of 800mb,before ihad these problems at the end of encoding files of 700-800mb it would burn the film straight to a disc and not leave these two folders in the working folder. Im completly stumped as to why this is happening and getting very impatient ,please can you try and sort this out. thanks NICEY
When you click Settings -> Burning Is 'Burn Result to DVD' checked? Is your burner shown in the box immediately underneath or is the box blank?
I'm running low. You know it converted ok and your sure that the dvd burn box was checked, so can you post the log files? Only the log for this particular conversion. Click Help->Open Log File. Copy and paste into your reply. Note:the converted files that is in the working folder are dvd compliant 'VOB' files. The size of the files merely reflect that you had a large AVI file to begin with. Conversion to DVD format carries the penalty of creating large files, but that's how it is if your player cannot show AVI files. Remember, the converted output can be imported into the likes of Nero or other free authoring programs if necessary.
Everything looks fine to me except at the end of encoding it didn't burn. Did the window pop-up at the end of encoding saying to either insert a disk or that burning would take place in fifteen seconds? This is from my log and what I would expect to see on the log if a disk was inserted and ready to burn. Note that in this example it identified the disk brand.(don't use CMC disks.I only use them for testing). It looks like Convertx is not seeing the disk. Try downloading this file from VSO. Scroll to the bottom-right of the screen and look for "VSO INSPECTOR" It will re-install the driver and then show your drive and the types of dvd you can use.You can put a blank disk in the drive and verify that it is recognized. http://www.vso-software.fr/download.php Failing that, all I can see is another uninstall ->reboot-> install BTW, do you have a short AVI (like 60 second clip) that you can use to test? Ok well...Can someone explain to me about how I can fix MY PROBLEM AS Well??? I posted it above...My Video Plays in my PS2 fine for awhile and then it starts to freeze, play, freeze, play, freeze, play...and then it plays again and then it happens every 5 minutes... Especially if there is an Action scene then it happens a lot more... HOW CAN I FIX THIS??
When three separate questions are active in the same thread it makes for confusion and often ends in tears. Is this a Convertx 'Authoring' problem or a PS problem? There are PS forums. Does the dvd play ok in the PC? Does it play ok in a standalone player? Is Convertx set to provide chapter points? Does the problem coincide with the chapter points? Has Convertx provided good burns to the PS in the past? Has the media changed? Has the burning speed changed?
