cool edit 2000

    need help please
    i used cool edit 2000 on my old system and now i want to install it on xp pro, and it wont install completely giving me message "your system is not configured for cool edit 2000 reinstall cool edit" which i did a couple of times.
    anybody help please if not where could i get info as cyntrillium belongs to adobe and they have no support for the older programs, i dont want to buy another program cool edit 2000 worked excellently

    what OS did you have it installed on before? Its possible that since its an older and out-dated program, its not compatible with winXP.

    it was installed on win 98 and when i upgraded to xp pro we transferred all the files and applications and it worked fine, i had a corrupted file and had to reinstall xp and now it wont accept cool 2000. any ideas what i should do

    when you say you transferred your files and applications, do you mean you just copied the cool edit pro application folder in the program files folder, and copied that folder to the new computer? if so, that is your problem right there. on a new computer, especially with a different operating system, you must re-install the program with the original install file for the program. you can't just copy the contents of the folder under program files over to the new computer. you must re-install it with the install software for the program.

    i used the transfer wizard for cp pro but i installed cool edit 2000 as i am supposed to do

    check the specs of the install CD you have. perhaps it is an older version, and simply isn't compatible with winXP. Thats a very common issue with older programs out there

    I have Cool Edit Pro 2000 installed on my XP SP2 computer and it works fine.
