i bought a coolsat 8000hd recently and i am just now trying to get it up and running. do you know for certain that this receiver or any fta receiver will work with DIRECTVs HD 5 LNB KA KU dish? any information is appreciated. thanks.
do you mean that the fta receivers will not pick up direct tv broadcasting or that that the fta receivers will not pick up fta broadcast using a direct tv dish or lnb's? thanks again.
Forget about Direct TV and re-aim your dish to get DISH or BEV. We have Star Choice in Canada where you can't get either, but I know of someone who moved his dish and picked up DISH. I would think BEV could be obtained also.
I have a bunch of old Direct dishes. I want to get HD signals. I am reading spec sheets on both direct and dish and see they are using the same satellites. Now I am in the process of buying a new dish and lnbs so which do I buy? They both pick up the same sats and transponders, but the dish gear is a bit easier to interface. After the answers I've read here I am totally confused now.
Direct TV and Dish Network are not on the same satellites. I have a neighbour who was on direct and you cannot get anything with FTA receivers. You have to turn the dish to pick DISH channels.
