Because I have never even heard of it, let alone used it, but i'll sample it, and if it's good, i'll add it to the guide :)

its not even hard in the first place all you do is download itunes again "just so you have something to trasfer the music to" then connect your ipod BUT DONT LET ITUNES AUTO OPEN then you go to my computer and open your ipod drive "i havent done it in a long time so i forgot how many folders are in there" copy the contense of one of the folders and save it to the file you want them in and its work out all fine. i had about 900 song on mine and my computer took about an hour to upload all the music so have patience

It can also take even longer if you are not using a hi-speed USB port, so make sure you are operating using a USB 2.0 port, otherwise you could be there for days, depending on how much music you have on there..

yea, i tried it that way. the way without any type of software, but only some of the files actually worked. most of them, windows media player just said it cant play this type of file. and they wouldn't play on itunes either

once you import all the music to a folder and make itunes your main music player doulbe click the song to play it and itll automatically import and stay on your itunes memory "as long as you dont replace your folder somewhere else in your computer" then when you get all the music back in itunes just upload your pod and there you go. i got all this info from my friend "hes a computer nerd" and it worked just fine for me. i was in the middle of updating itunes and it froze so i had to delete itunes and download it all over again and i was able to do what i told you and improt all my music form my ipod to my compter then from my computer to my new ipod. so if n e of this is confusing let me know and ill get back at you

Well, I just downloaded the little "gem" podplayer. Yes, it allowed me to play songs via the USB connection. However, it creamed my IPod Video with V1.1 software. No songs, artists, or albums were displayed on my IPod and ITunes told me that I had to restore and reload songs.

So, I'd be careful with this gem. It looks like it might not be compatible with some models and software versions.
