Mpeg 2 <--- is all DVD Players will play without converting/encoding

    Mpeg 1 - VCD
    Mpeg 2 - SVCD
If you only have a CD-RW

You can buy the mpg/dvd plug in for Nero (Nerovision) at aheads website for $20. Nerovision usually comes with Nero burning rom. It will transcode mpg into dvd format. But keep in mind that the conversion will double the size of the file, so a 2.5 gigabyte mpg may not fit on a 4.7 gb dvd. The red "burn" button will gray out if it's too big. Also, by changing the resolution you may get a better compression.
