You need both. Shrink to analyze the disc and Burnatonce to burn it (You could use any other burning program - Nero etc). These are just the ones I use (both free with good guides).
I just downloaded "DVD Shrink", I have XCopy Express already installed which I've used many times...just unable to burn a backup of the backup! So the DVD Shrink it sounds is all I need?
I've not used Xcopy after all the bad suff I heard about it, so I'm not sure if it will allow you to select the files that Shrink outputs and then burn them. I would probably just download Burnatonce. Guides at : www.chrismccann.co.uk
Shrink won't start download of DVD-R copied movie files... get this message.... "invalid primary volume descriptor(ISO9660)" Does anybody know what that's all about?
You are copying a copy.....so the basics apply: 1. No encryption present.....therefore no ripping required. 2. The copy will (99.9% of the time) already be on a dvd5.....so no compression/stripping/re-authoring is required..... What you have is basically a data disc burned into a dvd video format...... So any burning program capable of burning disc to disc or creating an image can do it with ease..... Or just drag the contents to your HD and burn back with a suitable burning program.... eg. Recordnowmax/DX or Nero etc.....
I agree with Baaabaaa. You guys seem confused. You don't need dvd shrink and all those other encoding programs to burn a copied dvd already. The copyed one has already been compressed and you just need programs like babaaa stated like nero, dvd decrypter, recordmax....
