I used to be able to do this with NERO on DVD-Rs I was making on my Panasonic DVD recorder. I tried it with my new recorder (a Toshiba) and it did not work. Anyone recommend another way of me doing it? The reason I do this, is sometimes I make a DVD over a period of weeks (or months) and if it goes bad in the middle of the disk, instead of me losing all that I had recorded before (family movies or TV recordings), I would instead reburn an open copy of what I had (backed up on my computer as n ISO) and then add the new material all over again. thanks
I always found that using DVD-R on a DVD recorder, they had to be finalized on the original machine, else they couldn't be read on a PC or other standalone. To get the video off an unfinalized, recorded disk you have to use a utility like IsoBuster.
Thanks, I'll try ISObuster. I was not able to finalize disks using nero, but I was able to copy open disks and make image files of them
