I just got done taking all of the Star Trek TV Series Movies from tape and put them on DVD. (79 Episodes) I could only get 3 Episodes per DVD and would like to know if there is a way to put more on the DVD withput using double layer DVD's.
Depending on what authoring app you use it's just a matter of lowering the bitrate (which also lowers the quality) to get more episodes per disc. A program like ConvertXtoDVD will do this automatically, add 4 or more episodes, let it create your files and check the results to see if it suits you. I'm rather amazed at how good it's results can be with very low bitrates, as long as it's a low action source. Another alternative is to use half D1 for lower bitrates when authoring. The vid is softened a bit but some high action pixillation can be avoided.
