sometimes when i want to move a lot of stuff from one drive to another, i walk away hoping it's done when I come back, only to see it stopped 2 minutes into it to ask me "are you sure you want to copy the read only file" and stuff like that. i'd really like it if when i tell windows to move/copy a file they would take my word that its' what i want. i'm runing XP sp1 any advice?
when the box comes up and says that click "yes to all" instead of yes and it wont ask you that anymore
yeah, i know i can say yes to all, what i want is for it not to come up ever. sucks to walk away and come back to see little has been done.
if the files are 'read only' what you want to do is before moving, select all the files and right click/properties. you should see the boxes archive/read only etc, untick the read only one and ok it.
you dont really want to be moving programs around once they are installed in destination folders, unless its running straight from a folder that you unzipped to or something - thats why windows comes up with warnings like that i suppose.
often times i do, like when i'm trying to back up files, the mere fact that one of the files is a .exe throws everything off, which is ridiculous
