    Hey guys

I got a old ST3500620AS 500mb c drive. I have just installed a 1tb Samsung HD103UJ. I want to move my everything from the old drive to this new drive including operation system & all. Firstly will this speed up my machine?
I have been reading that I need a drive copy software. One of the best looks like the Paragon drive copy. I did get 32bit operating copy but my machine is running on 64bit vista ultimate so wasn't compatible. Can anyone point me in the right direction or help me copy my drives?

get the software from the hd manufacturer. seagate has a disc utility that clones their drive to others or vice versa as i use it all the time.

you don't need any drive copy software.. thats a con.. heres how it's done..

make a partition the size you want on your new drive.. then boot from a live linux or bartpe dish.. set "show hidden" for the drive you want to copy.. copy everything across .. then set the partition bootable (don't do that when partitioning).. and remove the old drive.. it should then just work when you boot up..

I'm not too technical, I can create a new partition on my new drive that not a problem. What do you mean then boot from a live linux or bartpe dish..
