Hi! I'm new here so i appologise if i have posted this thread in the wrong place. My problem is that i have a stand alone DVD recorder for recording television programs. When i record a number of programs to DVD+RW discs and then watch the programs at the bigining of the disc i am left with large sections of the disc that are virtualy useless untill i have watched all the programs. I am trying to find software that will allow me to extract the individual titles from the discs and copy onto another disc so as to free up the space. I hope that makes sense. Any help would be much appriciated
One (of many) methods: Assuming that the disk has been finalized in the recorder and your standalone is like mine it puts a form of protection on the disk to prevent copying. Download DVD Decrypter to rip the files to the hard drive. http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ Then import the files into DVD Shrink. http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ Click the 'Reauthor' button on Shrink to pick out what you want and let it save your selections to a DVD. DVD Shrink can be set to burn with DVD Decrypter. Both progs are free so the cost is minimal. Now you can erase your DVD-RW in your recorder and start again.
Thanks. I Will let you know how I get on. I have tried DVD decrypter & DVD shrink before but I had not finalised the DVD first. Maybe that was my problem
