I think I posted my question regarding this subject in the wrong thread. Sorry - I'm learning. I have not been able to burn my DVDs that were recorded using the DVDR05. This is homemade, not copyrighted, material. I'm using Nero and a PC. Anyone else encounter this problem. Thanks.

Okay, I have a call in to them. Will let you know if/when they answer.
    Thank you.

I just spoke with a rep from Ilo on the phone. She assured me that the Ilo DVDR05 does not add any type of code that would prevent copying a DVD that was recorded on the DVDR05 (unless of course it is copyrighted - which my home movies are not). She suggested that I contact Nero to be sure they support copying of VOB files. Anyone know the answer to that? If Nero does not, what software should I purchase?

    tashatoo,

Have you uesd DVD Decrypter like Harpmaker said on the link I gave you? It could be able (like he said) to unseal the DVD, but you need hard drive space to do so. Try ripping one file at a time with it if you wish to try. And as for Nero not taking VOB files... This is a lie it can take them. What ver of Nero you have cause I have Nero 6 and its o.k with the files. Hmmm... also if DVD Decrypter fails try DVD Shrink, however you still need hard space for the backup. Both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are free try them and see if it works. If not, take it back to Wal-Mart and get a DVDR04 because if the apps I listed fail than I don't know what will work. Good luck. (Btw, thanks for calling them and telling us about it)

    Hi Dan,

I downloaded the Decrypter software and you guys are right - it is GREAT! It copied my DVD perfectly and the new DVD plays perfectly. Thanks so much for all the help!
