ok, so i softmodded my xbox and went around and had a little too much fun so i moved my c file into my e file,i got an error 21. well i tried hot swapping but i couldnt get xplorer360 to open it, even tho my computer saw it..so im wondering, if i got a mod chip and put it in,would i be able to use the mod chip to get my xbox working again. and wat mod chip is the best for someone on a low budget.
Well a mod-chip will make your xbox work again. But you will still get error 21. This can be fixed by using "Slayers Evox Auto Installer" and rebuilding evox on your xbox. Well rebuilding evox will format your xbox and install evox along with M$ dash 5960. You can also install evox and M$ dash 5960 without formatting your xbox HDD. But since you have messed up alot of things, formatting is a better option. Dont use "Slayers Evox Auto Installer" on a softmodded xbox as "Slayers Evox Auto Installer" does not have a softmod support !!! Well the best mod-chip on a low buget is the "Xecuter 2.6" DuoX2 is the lowest priced mod-chip.
I don't suppose you ever made backups of your hdd and your eeprom on your pc? (Like they tell you to) You could use XBoxHDM to rebuild the drive on your PC that way.
no, i made backups of everything that it said to,..after i was done i moved a folder into another folder, and now my dashboard wont load, i can play games, but i cant get updates from xbox live, wen i try i get an error 21, anything that includes the dashboard i get an error 21.. i tried hotswap but xplorer360 couldnt open it even tho my computer recognized it.
ok if you can play games then use your softmod thing and just reinstall your mods to the C: drive again, happens to me all the time when my little bro starts messing with the xbox
i cant, all my game saves were deleted wen i moved the file,. and my xbox wont read my memory card anymore... so i cant get the softmod file back on the xbox
I'm a modchip installer so soft modding is a sin in my book but you can unplug your DVD drives IDE cable, turn on the console, it'll give error 11 (from memory here) and by default unlock your harddrive, xplorer360 shouldn't have a problem getting into it then. kc
