Could not find appropriate codec for xvid....please help

    hi there,
    I've read the thread at the top of the page about codecs and I'm still stumped. I've got an .avi which I want to convert with Cinema Craft Encoder. When I try to load it I get a message

    "could not find appropriate codec for XVID"

    AVIcodec tells me I've got XVid MPEG 4 codec installed as I've installed XVID 1.0.2 and NIMO50Build9beta and also FFDShow, however GSpot tells me that I dont have the correct codecs installed for video. audio is ok.

    please help as I cant load this into TMPGEnc either and I suspect it's the same problem.
